An apparatus for supporting a patient during a medical procedure, the apparatus including: a) first and second end supports located opposite each other； b) a first and second support for the patient, each of which has an outer end, with a possibility of rotation attached to the corresponding one of the aforementioned end supports, and the inner end, the inner end being located at a certain distance in the unconnected swivel joint； c) wherein at least one of the aforementioned first and second ends the center supports includes a support drive mechanism for positioning one of the patient supports in a plurality of angular orientations relative to its end support； and d) a patient translator engaged in engagement with one of the aforementioned first and second patient supports, the translator having a translator drive mechanism for selectively positioning the translator along the patient support. 2.
