The catheter insertion package includes the catheter insertion tray and the contents for the catheter insertion procedure. The catheter insertion tray may comprise a structural configuration for maintaining a sterile field on the patient throughout the catheter insertion procedure, the sterile field comprising at least a portion of the tray. The structural configuration of the tray may provide the sterile side of the tray designated for the first person performing the sterilization steps of the catheter insertion procedure in the sterile field. The structural configuration of the tray may also provide the non-sterile side of the tray designated for the first or second person performing the non-sterile steps of the catheter insertion procedure outside the sterile field.
