The present invention relates to modified peptides, Ac-RLYE and R_(D)LYE, for controlling angiogenesis, and to a composition for preventing and treating diseases or cancer related to angiogenesis, wherein the composition contains the peptides as active ingredients. In particular, the present invention relates to a peptide for controlling angiogenesis, in which L-Arg of an N-terminal is acetylated in a peptide consisting of an amino acid sequence of Arg-Leu-Tyr-Glu； another peptide for controlling angiogenesis, in which L-Arg is substituted by D-Arg in a peptide consisting of an amino acid sequence of Arg-Leu-Tyr-Glu； and a technique of using a composition containing the peptides as active ingredients in preventing and treating diseases (cancer, diabetic retinopathy, or senile macular degeneration) caused by excessive angiogenesis. The peptides of the present invention have long half periods, and have very excellent effects in controlling angiogenesis induced by VEGF. Accordingly, when the peptides developed according to the present invention are used for diseases (cancer, diabetic retinopathy, or senile macular degeneration caused by excessive angiogenesis), the diseases can be very effectively prevented and treated.본 발명은 개선된 혈관신생 억제용 펩티드 Ac-RLYE와 R(D)LYE 및 이를 유효성분으로 함유하는 혈관신생과 관련된 질환 또는 암의 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 Arg-Leu-Tyr-Glu의 아미노산 서열로 이루어지는 펩티드에서 N-말단의 L-Arg이 아세틸화된 것을 특징으로 하는 혈관신생(angiogenesis) 억제용 펩티드와 Arg-Leu-Tyr-Glu의 아미노산 서열로 이루어지는 펩티드에서 L-Arg이 D-Arg으로 치환된 것을 특징으로 하는 혈관신생 억제용 펩티드, 이들 펩티드를 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물을 과다한 혈관신생으로 인한 질환(암, 당뇨망막병증 또는 노인성 황반변성)의 예방 및 치료용으로 사용하는 기술에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 펩티드는 긴 반감기를 갖으며 VEGF에 의해 유도되는 혈관신생 억제 효과가 매우 우수하다. 따라서 본 발명에서 개발한 펩티드는 과다한 혈관신생으로 유발되는 질환(암, 당뇨망막병증 또는 노인성 황반변성)에 사용하면 이들 질환을 매우 효과적으로 예방 및 치료할 수 있다.
