PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a dental implement which is formed by an overlay that should be used by a dentist when removing a tooth structure.SOLUTION: The method includes the steps for: acquiring three-dimensional data relating to the shapes of a tooth 2 and adjacent teeth； processing the three-dimensional data by using a computer for determining an overlay 1 of the adjacent teeth, fit into the tooth； further processing the three-dimensional data to determine a portion of a tooth structure to be removed from the tooth so as to pretreat the tooth； determining at least two guide edges, in which the first and second guide edges are mutually alienated only by the distance of at least 0.5 mm, and the guide edges are configured so as to be able to be guided when a dental cutting implement is simultaneously brought into contact with the first and second guide edges, and thus enabling the guide and removal of the prescribed portion of the tooth structure； and forming the determined overlay having the determined guide edges.【課題】歯構造を除去する際に歯医者により使用されるべきオーバーレイによって形成される歯科用工具を形成するための方法を提供する。【解決手段】歯２および隣接する歯の形状に関連する三次元データを取得するステップと、歯に嵌り且つ隣接する歯のオーバーレイ１を決定するためにコンピュータを用いて三次元データを処理するステップと、三次元データを更に処理して、歯を前処理するべく歯から除去されるべき歯構造の部分を決定するステップと、少なくとも２つの案内エッジを決定し、第１および第２の案内エッジが少なくとも０．５ｍｍの距離だけ互いに離間され、歯科用切断工具が第１および第２の案内エッジと同時に接触することにより案内され得るように案内エッジが構成され、それにより、歯構造の前記所定の部分を案内除去できるようにするステップと、決定された案内エッジを有する決定されたオーバーレイを形成するステップとを含む構成とする。【選択図】図２
