PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily insert a pearl nucleus into an abalone without damaging an internal organ and a mantle membrane.SOLUTION: A pearl nucleus insertion method includes: a tube insertion step of inserting an insertion tube 12 from a head side of an abalone toward a spiral tip side between a shell 24 and a mantle membrane 26 and a nucleus insertion step of inserting a pearl nucleus 14 into a near field region of the spiral tip through the insertion tube 12. The insertion tube 12 is inserted between the shell 24 and the mantle membrane 26 at least in a range reaching the near field region of the spiral tip from the head side. The insertion tube 12 is shaped into a flat and substantially straw shape, and also has an insertion port in a base end side and a discharging outlet in the tip side. In the nucleus insertion step, the pearl nucleus 14 is put in the insertion port of the insertion tube 12 and the pearl nucleus 14 is pushed by a plunger 16 to the discharging outlet and is discharged from the discharging outlet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14【課題】内臓や外套膜を傷付けることなく、アワビに真珠核を容易に挿入する。【解決手段】アワビの頭部側から、貝殻24と外套膜26との間に、螺頂部の側に向けて挿入筒12を挿入する筒挿入工程と、挿入筒12を介して真珠核14を螺頂部の近傍領域に挿入する核挿入工程とを備え、挿入筒12は少なくとも頭部側から螺頂部の近傍領域に至る範囲で貝殻24と外套膜26との間に挿入され、挿入筒12は、扁平な略ストロー状の形状になっていて、基端側に挿入口を有し、先端側に排出口を有し、核挿入工程では、挿入筒12の挿入口に真珠核14を入れ、真珠核14を排出口までプランジャー16で押して排出口から排出させる。【選択図】図14
