The present invention discloses a method for controlling surface-inhabiting pests in an aquatic system, in particular cyanobacteria and harmful algal blooms (HABs), comprising spreading on the surface of the aquatic system a buoyant composition comprising a water disinfectant, preferably an oxidizing compound, and a floating agent. The invention further relates to compositions and methods for their preparation and use.La présente invention concerne un procédé de lutte contre des insectes vivant sur une surface dans un système aquatique, en particulier des cyanobactéries et des efflorescences algales nuisibles (HAB), consistant à disperser sur la surface du système aquatique une composition flottante comprenant un désinfectant d'eau, de préférence un composé d'oxydation, et un agent flottant.
