PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive roller bearing for a dental hand piece with excellent efficiency in heat radiation and with reduced cost for the surface treatment of an outer ring and a flange.
SOLUTION: This roller bearing 10 comprises an inner ring 26 and the outer ring 28 disposed to face each other in such a way as relatively rotatable around the rotation axis, and a plurality of rollers 30 disposed between raceway grooves 26s and 28c of the inner and outer rings in such a way as can roll along the grooves. The outer ring has the flange (outward flange) 36 projecting over a width area Wf including at least 25% of the whole width W of the raceway groove in the axial direction of rotation. A grinding process is applied to the outer diameter surface 36a of the outward flange and a side surface 28b of the outer ring, and a turning process is applied to a side surface 36b of the outward flange and the outer diameter surface 28a of the barrel part of the outer ring.
