A method of capturing a thermal pattern by a sensor comprising a matrix of several rows and columns of pixels and a plurality of heating elements each associated with a pixel or a group of pixels, and capable of heating a heat sensitive measurement element for measurement of the pixel or each pixel in the group of pixels independently of the other heating elements during reading of the pixel or at least one of the pixels in the group of pixels,in which, when a first pixel or a first group of pixels in the matrix is read, the heat sensitive measurement element of this first pixel or first group of pixels is heated by the heating element associated with this first pixel or first group of pixels, and the heat sensitive measurement element of another pixel called second pixel, or of a second group of pixels, in the matrix is heated by at least one other heating element associated with this second pixel or second group of pixels.
