The absorbent article (1) has a first position (P1) where the width of the absorbent article is narrowest in the width direction, the first position (P1) being located rearward from the excretory opening contact area (S1) and forward from a second position (P2) corresponding to the position of the maximum width of the hip flap (4). The length along the front-rear direction (L) of the section at the first position is less than the length along the front-rear direction L of the section at the second position. A central groove (42a) is provided along the center line (CL) in the rear-side area (S3) as one of the plurality of grooves (42).
