The invention relates to a device for assisting (10) the use of an axially activated dispensing device (12) for a product contained in a reservoir (14), the dispensing being activated by the user following a pressure exerted by the user on a support zone (20) movably mounted relative to the reservoir (14) between a rest position and an activated dispensing position, the assistance device (10) comprising: - means for affixing to the dispensing device (12), - means for quantifying a physical value related to the load exerted by the user on the support zone (20) between the rest position and the activated position, - a system of processing the information to process the quantified physical value and provide information on the dose of distributed product. The invention also relates to a method for monitoring the distribution of a full dose upon activation of a product dispensing device (12) by means of such a support device (10).
