PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To address such a problem that, when recessed portions are formed on an absorber by embossing, a top sheet for covering the absorber is pulled or torn and it is difficult to firmly join the top sheet to the absorber.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 10 according to the present invention comprises a liquid-permeable top sheet 14, a liquid-impermeable back sheet 12, and an absorber 13 disposed between the top sheet and the back sheet. The absorbent article further comprises a first recessed portion (20a) which is formed on a surface of the absorber opposing the top sheet and extends along a first direction, and a second recessed portion (20b) which is formed on the surface of the absorber opposing the top sheet so as to intersect the first recessed portion and extends along a second direction that is different from the first direction.
