An ion generator is provided to improve the connection structure of a positive electrode and a negative electrode in prevention of cracks, breakage, and deformation of the electrodes. An ion generator(1) comprises: a casing(10)； a substrate(20)； a positive electrode(30) and a negative electrode(40) connected to the substrate； and a cover(50). The casing includes body(11), plural hook(13), an upper opening(12), a connection part(15) with a negative electrode opening(16) for emitting negative ions from the negative electrode, a separation stopper(14) for restraining the sliding movement of the positive electrode. The substrate is connected to the positive electrode by a cable(60) and to the negative electrode in a direct manner.
