A posture correction brace for a person has a tightening mechanism that allows a user to pull a cord to pull down on the back of a pair of shoulder straps, thereby pulling the shoulders back to correct the persons posture. The front ends of the shoulder straps are typically also attached to the back of the wearer, to help the posture correction brace pull the shoulders back as the shoulder straps tighten.
