A personal device for diagnosing mental status of individuals and groups of people comprising an arrangement for mental status assessment entering (1) carried out by the examined person, an optical indicator (2), a real-time clock (3), at least one sensor (4) of a biometric parameter of the examined person, a control system (5) with a communication arrangement (6) for communication with a mobile telecommunications device (7), a memory (8), and an autonomous power supply system (9). According to the invention the arrangement for mental status assessment entering (1) is equipped with at least one area (10) activated by touch and/or pressure for entering the mental status assessment, positive or negative. The absolute value of the assessment depends on the duration of touch and/or press. The optical indicator (2) is adapted for displaying the value of the entered mental status assessment, positive or negative. The control system (5) is adapted for establishing an interrelation between the entered mental status assessment and acoustic information associated with the assessment and entered via a microphone (11), and for transferring the entered mental status assessment together with associated acoustic information to the memory (8) and/or to the mobile telecommunication device (7).
