PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guidewire capable of achieving both torque transmission property and shaping property and reducing the bump resistance when a tip of the guidewire bumps against something, for example a blood vessel wall.SOLUTION: A guidewire 1 comprises: an elongated flexible core wire 2； and a pair of plate-like parts 4A, 4B opposingly arranged along a constant-outer-diameter part 21 of the core wire 2 and formed in a plate shape along the longitudinal direction of the core wire 2.
