Antimicrobial compositions and methods are described. Antimicrobial compositions are particularly useful in providing antimicrobial function to a wide range of medical devices. In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a UV curable antimicrobial coating comprising a UV curable composition comprising oligomers, monomers and photoinitiators that together form a UV curable polymer composition. The composition includes a rheology modifier as required. The compositions also include antimicrobial agents that can be selected from a wide variety of agents.
