PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire which can be smoothly inserted without being caught on an inner wall of a tubular organ with a small inner diameter and hardly damages the tubular organ.SOLUTION: A guide wire 10 comprises a core wire 20 and a resin film 30 with which an outer periphery of the core wire is coated. The core wire 20 includes a proximal end portion 21 and a distal end portion 23 having a diameter reduced compared to that of the proximal end portion 21, and the distal end portion 23 includes a linear portion 25 extending from the proximal end portion 21 via a diameter reduced portion 24, a bending portion 26 which bends from a distal end of the linear portion 25 with a curvature radius R of 0.5-2 mm and extends, and a folded-back portion 27 which extends from a distal end of the bending portion 26 in such a manner to be folded back toward the side of the proximal end portion 21.
