PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a gingival retraction cord is provided to manufacture a gingival retraction cord having a coagulator within the cord and no naps on the cotton cord by performing the singeing process after coating a coagulator on the cotton yarn. CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing a gingival retraction cord using cotton yarn comprises:(i) step of preparing cotton yarn；(ii) step of knitting the cotton yarn；(iii) step of dyeing the cotton yarn； and(iv) step of coating a coagulator on the cotton yarn. The method further comprises a step of performing the singeing and rinse process to the cotton yarn after(ii) or(iii) step. In the(iv) step, the coating of a coagulator on the cotton yarn comprises(d1) step of preparing a thickening agent；(d2) step of producing a low viscosity solution by mixing the thickening agent and a coagulator； and(d3) step of drying the cotton yarn after dipping the cotton yarn into the low viscosity solution.
