A method of predicting the responsiveness of a patient to a pharmaceutical drug by measuring metabolites in a biological sample from the patient was developed. Metabolites in blood from breast cancer patients were analyzed using NMR spectroscopy. The responsiveness of the human cancer patients before, during and after treatment with CDK4/6 inhibitors palbociclib and ribociclib, anti-Her2 drug trastuzumab, and endocrine therapies tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors, was assessed by measuring the change in clinical outcomes such as tumor growth, survival and rate of metastasis. Statistical analyses identified particular NMR resonances that were strongly correlated with whether the patient was responsive or resistant to each drug. As such, models for predicting the responsiveness of a patient to each drug based on metabolites from the patient was developed.L'invention concerne un procédé de prédiction de la réactivité d'un patient à un médicament pharmaceutique par mesure des métabolites dans un échantillon biologique provenant du patient. Des métabolites dans le sang provenant de patients atteints d'un cancer du sein ont été analysés par spectroscopie RMN.
