THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES GENERALLY TO AN APPARATUS (2) FOR CUTTING UP PARTS OF A PLANT EMPLOYING A VERSATILE KNIFE SYSTEM COMPRISING A FEEDER (3), A MAIN KNIFE SYSTEM HAVING MAIN ROTATING SHAFT (4) WHERE A PLURALITY OF CUTTER HEADS (6) ARE LOCATED WHICH IS CAPABLE OF CARRYING OUT THE CUTTING-UP PROCESS AND A SUBSIDIARY KNIFE SYSTEM HAVING A PLURALITY OF FIBRE BREAKING KNIVES (8) TO SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE CUTTING PROCESS MINIMIZE AND CHECK FIBRE BUILD-UP AROUND THE MAIN ROTATING SHAFT (4) THEREBY MAINTAINING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CUTTING PROCESS FOR A BETTER OUTPUT.
