PURPOSE: To provide marker genes to be used to select and/or divide haploid or doubled haploid of a plant (e.g. corn). CONSTITUTION: In the process to select a haploid or a doubled haploid, at least one kind of dominant selective marker gene, dominant screenable marker gene and dominant conditional lethal gene is used as a marker gene. The dominant selective gene codes such glyphosate oxidoreductase that its product can give resistance against agricultural chemicals. The dominant screenable gene codes aβ-glucuronidase which quantitatively isolates a dye. The dominant conditional lethal gene codes an indole acetoamide hydrolase (IaaH) or the like.
