PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing composition that can prevent the deterioration of and improve a working environment and an ambient environment, the deterioration of the environments being caused by annoying odor generated in casting manufacturing process and also contained in exhaust.SOLUTION: The deodorizing composition is composed of an aqueous solution including hydroxy acid of 10-70 mass% such as lactic acid, malic acid and citric acid, and alum of 0.1-10 mass% such as sodium alum, potassium alum and ammonium alum. Moreover, the deodorizing composition is included in sand for casting by being added or coated.
