A process for the preparation of [18F]DCFPyL ([18F]3), which comprisessubmitting anN,N,N-trialkylpyridin-2-aminium salt precursor thereof to a one-stepradiofluorinationreaction. The radiofluorination may be performed with no protection of anycarboxylicacid groups. The process of the invention also involves a purification andreformulationstep. The process of the invention is performed in less than about 30 minutes.Moreover, the process of the invention allows for a full automation.
