The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases, containing methyl-penicinoline as an active ingredient and, more specifically, to a composition for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases, containing methyl-penicinoline which is extracted from marine fungus Penicillium sp. SF-5995 and has an anti-inflammatory effect. The composition for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases, containing methyl-penicinoline as an active ingredient according to the present invention inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators produced from RAW264.7 macrophages and BV2 microglia in connection with inflammatory reactions, and has no cytotoxicity, thereby being able to be helpfully used as the composition for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases.본 발명은 메틸-페니시놀린을 유효성분으로 함유하는 염증성 질환 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 해양 진균 Penicillium sp. SF-5995에서 추출된 항염증 효과를 갖는 메틸-페니시놀린을 함유하는 염증성 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 메틸-페니시놀린을 유효성분으로 함유하는 염증성 질환 예방 또는 치료용 조성물은, 염증반응 관련하여 RAW264.7 대식세포와 BV2 미세아교세포에서 전염증성 사이토카인 및 매개체 생성을 억제하고, 세포독성이 없으므로 염증성 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
