The proximal end portion (154) is configured and dimensioned to engage a least a portion of the distal ring (1020) of the access port (1000) in a sealing relation therewith, wherein the sealing adapter (150) is transitionable between a first state in which the sealing adapter (150) has a first diameter and a second state in which the sealing adapter (150) has a second diameter.
