The purpose of the present invention is to provide a drug coating layer forwhich toxicity is low and stenosisinhibition rate is high when a drug is coated on a medical instrument anddelivered into a body, and a medical instrument using same.Provided is a drug coating layer having a morphological form comprisingmultiple long crystals of a water-insoluble drug, eachcrystal of which has an independent long axis, on a substrate surface. Thelong axes of the long crystals are substantially linear and thelong axes of the long crystals intersect with the plane of the substrate toform angles in a specified range.
