The invention is based on the assessment of one part of Aloe vera powder as non active therapeutic agent in Pharmaceutical dosage form. Aloe vera powder was characterized for various physicochemical parameters including solubility, pH, melting point, moisture content, bulk density, tapped density, hausner ratio, compressibility index and angle of repose. Sixteen batches were formulated using Aloe vera in various concentrations using different disintegrating agent. A reference batch was also prepared to carry out the comparative study and to assess the property of non active therapeutic ingredient. Pre-compression and post- compression studies were performed for each formulation. In-vitro release data was subjected to application of various kinetic models. The results obtained for all pre- compression and post-compression parameters were found within acceptable range of Pharmacopoeias. On the basis of in-vitro drug release behavior it can be observed that release was prolonged. On the basis of applied kinetics, all the batches followed Zero order kinetics.
