The invention relates to a methanolic extract of the plant Corrigiola telephiifolia which acts as cytoprotector on hepatic toxicity caused by tetrachloromethane (CC14) in mice. Chronic administration was carried out for 60 days in the form of oral administration of the extract in a dose of between 5 and 10 mg/kg/day. At a dose of 5 mg/kg/day moderate improvement in the state of the liver of the mice treated was noted； however, the tumour persisted (figure 21). At a dose of 10 mg/kg/day, a reduction in the induction of the tumour and a significant reduction in the rates of alanine aminotransferase ALAT and aspartate aminotransferase ASAT in the plasma in relation to the intoxicated control subjects were noted.L'extrait méthanolique de la plante C. telephiifolia joue un rôle de cytoprotecteur sur une toxicité hépatique induite par le tétrachlorométhane (CC14) chez des souris. Une administration chronique pendant 60 jours une administration par voie orale de l'extrait à une dose de 5 et 10 mg/kg/jour a été réalisée. A la dose de 5 mg/kg/jours on observe une amélioration modérée de l'état du foie des souris traitées mais la tumeur persiste (Figure 21). A la dose de 10 mg/kg/jours on note une réduction de l'induction de la tumeur et une baisse significative du taux des alanines amino-transférase ALAT et de l'Aspartate Aminotransferase ASAT plasmatiques par rapport aux témoins intoxiqués.
