PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel germination treatment plant seed manufacturing method suited for the production of much phytoalexin, a manufacturing method for a germination guiding material seed to be used for the production of such germination treatment plant seed, an extract composition for a germination treatment plant seed, and a candidate plant seen screening method to be used for the production of such target substance.SOLUTION: A germination guiding material seed manufacturing method comprises a pretreatment step of holding a plant seed continuously for five hours or longer under a carbon dioxide concentration of 400 ppm or higher and/or an oxygen concentration of 19 volume % or lower. Alternatively, a germination guiding material seed manufacturing method comprises a pretreatment step of treating a plant seed so that the mass of phyto-chemical in a plant seed after a pretreatment step may be two times or more for the mass of the phyto-chemical of the plant seed before the pretreatment step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】多量のファイトアレキシンの産生に適した新規な発芽処理植物種子の製造方法、このような発芽処理植物種子の製造に用いられる発芽誘導用原料種子の製造方法、発芽処理植物種子の抽出組成物、及び、標的物質の産生に用いられる候補植物種子のスクリーニング方法を提供する。【解決手段】発芽誘導用原料種子の製造方法は、植物種子を、４００ｐｐｍ以上の二酸化炭素濃度及び／又は１９容量％以下の酸素濃度の雰囲気条件下に連続して５時間以上保持する前処理工程を有する。又は、発芽誘導用原料種子の製造方法は、前処理工程であって、前処理工程後の植物種子中のファイトケミカルの質量が、前処理工程前の植物種子のファイトケミカルの質量に対して２倍以上となるように植物種子を処理する前処理工程を有する。【選択図】図１
