The method involves tapering a summit (12) of a cylindrical absorbent body (10) in a direction of an axial end of the absorbent body. A recess (20) is extended in a direction of opposite axial end of the absorbent body and is arranged in an apex region. A material web from absorbent material is wound on a roller in radial and/or axial direction under formation of the recess. A front face of the roller is vertically covered with a liquid-permeable covering material before completely pressing the web winding.
