The invention relates to a medicine container (1) for medicine substances (59) that can be mixed with one another, comprising a container body (3), a stopper (27) and a mixing element (51), wherein the container body (3) has a first end (5) with a stopper opening (9) and a second end (7) with a base (11) having an outlet (13), wherein the stopper (27) can be moved between the ends (5, 7), wherein a mixing chamber (57) for receiving the medicine substances (59) is delimited by a section of an inner casing surface (33) of the container body (3), a side (29) of the stopper (27) and the base (11), wherein the mixing element (51) can be arranged in the mixing chamber (57), and wherein the medicine container (1) is configured to discharge the medicine substances (59) out of the medicine container (1) by moving the stopper (27) in the direction of the outlet (13). In addition, according to the invention, the stopper (27) is configured to accommodate at least part of the mixing element (51) by means of a recess (41). The invention also relates to a method for operating a medicine container (1) of this type.
