The present disclosure relates to articles for detecting disinfectants via visual feedback. The article has a first substrate having a first major surface and opposite ends. The article also includes a process indicator disposed on at least a portion of the first major surface. The process indicator reacts with at least one liquid disinfectant selected from the group consisting of glutaraldehyde, orthophthalaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, peroxyacetic acid, and combinations thereof. The process indicator can be formed from a synthetic amine-containing polymer derived from polyethyleneimine (PEI). The article can have a channel formed by a portion of the process indicator and extending between the ends. The present disclosure also relates to kits containing the articles, as well as methods of using the articles in a disinfection process.
