The present invention deals with a polyherbal anti-acne preparation comprising extracts of of Symplocos racemosa, Salmalia malabarica, Picrorhiza kurroa, Vitex negundo, Embelia ribes, Terminalia chebula, and Terminalia bellerica. The composition not only is shown to have excellent activity against Propionibacterium acnes but also has the added advantage of having anti-Iipase and 5 alpha reductase inhibition activity.
