The present disclosure provides biophotonic compositions comprising a lichen extract and a carrier medium wherein the lichen extract comprises at least one chromophore. The lichen extract is preferably derived from a lichen selected from Rhizocarpon geographicum, Xanthoparmelia scabrosa, Lecidella elaechroma, Cetraria islandica and Xanthoria parietina. The carrier medium may comprise a synthetic polymer, a protein-based polymer, a polysaccharide or a glycol. When employed in combination with light, these biophotonic compositions have utility in the treatment of skin disorders, in skin rejuvenation, in reducing inflammation and have antibacterial effects.La présente invention concerne des compositions biophotoniques comprenant un extrait de lichen et un milieu porteur, l'extrait de lichen comprenant au moins un chromophore.
