The invention relates to a DNA aptamer which specifically binds α6 integrin. The aim of the invention is to provide agents with which a cancer disease can be advantageously treated for example, in particular the tumor cell growth and/or the metastasis can be reduced. For this purpose, one aspect of the invention discloses a DNA aptamer which specifically binds α6 integrin and comprises a) a sequence with the nucleotides 22-57 according to SEQ ID NO: 1, or b) a sequence with at least 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, or 36 successive nucleotides of the nucleotides 22-57 according to SEQ ID NO: 1, or c) a sequence with at least 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99% or 99.5% of the identity of a sequence with the nucleotides 22-57 according to SEQ ID NO: 1 or d) a sequence according to a), b), or c) with at least one modified nucleotide.
