To provide a nonwoven fabric for absorbent article exhibiting high diffusion preventing property along with high liquid-absorbing speed and high liquid-return preventing property with a good balance, and to provide an absorbent article using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a nonwoven fabric for absorbent article, in which the nonwoven fabric comprises a first fiber and a second fiber. Initial contact angles A, B of surfaces of the first and the second fibers with water are 45 to 70° and 65 to 85° respectively, and the initial contact angle A is smaller than the initial contact angle B by 10° or more. Contact angles after permeation of water of surfaces of the first and the second fibers with water are 90 to 120° and 65 to 85° respectively. The nonwoven fabric comprises the first fiber of 30 mass% to 70 mass% and the second fiber of 70 mass% to 30 mass% based on the total weight of the nonwoven fabric.
