The present invention relates to a variable diameter protector assembly for minimally invasive surgery that comprises: a protective main body having opposite ends that are in communication with each other, wherein the protective main body has a channel formed therein and is retractable, the inner diameter of which is variable and a plurality of ribs formed on the protective main body and disposed parallel to each other with a predetermined interval therebetween, wherein the ribs are parallel with the channel over the opposite ends of the protective main body, wherein the protective main body and the plurality of ribs are inserted through an opening of a person that undergoes a surgical procedure.
