A plant cultivating apparatus for households according to the present invention includes: a culture medium tank in which a culture medium is stored； a base cultivation case arranged on an upper portion of the culture medium tank； a main panel which is arranged on an upper portion of the base cultivation case and includes a culture medium circulation pump, which circulates the culture medium to supply the culture medium stored in the culture medium tank to the base cultivation case, a main lighting circuit unit which provides LED lighting to the inside of the base cultivation case, and a main control unit which controls the culture medium circulation pump and the main lighting circuit unit； an extended cultivation case, which is selectively interposed between the base cultivation case and the main panel； and an extended panel which is interposed between the base cultivation case and the extended cultivation case and includes an extended lighting circuit unit, which provides LED lighting to the inside of the base cultivation case on behalf of the main lighting circuit unit, and an extended control unit which controls the extended lighting circuit unit according to a control command transmitted from the main control unit.
