PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable work machine including a movable protection cover which does not obstruct work during a normal bush cutting work and is moved to protect a tip tool when being subjected to large acceleration.SOLUTION: The portable work machine includes: a drive source a tip tool driven by the drive source and cutting a cutting object and a fixed protection part covering a portion of the tip tool.
