The dispenser (10) further comprises a plurality of drug holding drawers (40) slidably insertable in a respective compartment (30), each drawer (40) being particularly adapted to receive within it one or more drugs to be dispensed. The dispenser (10) further comprises a lock mechanism for retaining each drawer (40) within the respective compartment (30), and comprising a magnet (60) arranged on the drawer (40) and a metal element (64) arranged in the container (20) at the compartment (30).
