Disclosed is a dihydroisoxazole compound of formula (I) where X is an optionally substituted phenyl group and Y is a haloalkyl all other groups are as disclosed in the description. Examples of compounds of formula (I) are: N-{ 2-fluoro-5-[5-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazole-3-yl]-benzyl} propionicamide and 2-fluoro-5-[ 5-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazole-3-yl]-benzyl amine. The compound is an active agent in a pest control agent in particular an insecticide or acricide.
