A method of preparing a knee joint for a prosthesis in a patient includes mating a patient-specific three-dimensional curved inner surface (640) of a femoral alignment guide (600) onto a corresponding three-dimensional femoral joint surface of the patient. The patient-specific three-dimensional curved inner surface is preoperatively configured from medical scans of the knee joint of the patient. First and second holes are drilled into an anterior portion of the femoral joint surface through corresponding first and second guiding apertures of the femoral alignment guide.L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'articulation de genou pour une prothèse chez un patient, ledit procédé consistant à accoupler une surface interne incurvée tridimensionnelle spécifique à un patient (640) d'un guide d'alignement fémoral (600) sur une surface d'articulation fémorale tridimensionnelle correspondante du patient. La surface interne incurvée tridimensionnelle spécifique à un patient est configurée avant l'opération à partir de balayages médicaux de l'articulation de genou du patient. Des premier et second trous sont percés dans une partie antérieure de la surface d'articulation fémorale à travers des première et seconde ouvertures de guidage correspondantes du guide d'alignement fémoral.
