METHOD FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING A HEPATITIS C VIRUS INFECTION OR A HEPATITIS B VIRUS INFECTION BY ADMINISTRATION OF SUICIDE GENE-MODIFIED LYMPHOCYTES
The present invention relates to the prevention of liver graft infection by HCV and/or HBV in a patient infected by HCV and/or HBV in need of liver transplantation, and to the treatment of a patient chronically infected by HCV and/or HBV. More specifically, this invention relates to allogeneic lymphocytes expressing a "suicide gene" to prevent infection by HCV and/or HBV of a liver graft and to treat a patient chronically infected by HCV and/or HBV. The invention also concerns a lymphocyte bank comprising a plurality of allogeneic lymphocytes expressing a "suicide gene".La présente invention concerne la prévention dinfection dune greffe du foie par le VHC et/ou le VHB chez un patient infecté par le VHC et/ou le VHB ayant besoin dune transplantation du foie, et le traitement dun patient infecté de manière chronique par le VHC et/ou le VHB. Plus particulièrement, cette invention concerne des lymphocytes allogéniques exprimant un « gène suicide » pour prévenir linfection par le VHC et/ou le VHB dune greffe du foie et pour traiter un patient infecté de manière chronique par le VHC et/ou le VHB. Linvention concerne également une banque de lymphocytes comprenant une pluralité de lymphocytes allogéniques exprimant un « gène suicide ».
