As Vitamin E comprises a mixture of tocopherol and tocotrienol isomers, presently most emulsifying formulations targets the former, especially α-tocopherol. We disclose a formulation targeting tocotrienols and derivatives thereof for self-emulsifying drug delivery system. The formulation comprises 2 non-ionic surfactants acting as emulsifiers and a glyceride acting as oil carrier admixed with tocotrienol. Specifically, the emulsifiers are sorbitan monolaurate and polyoxyethylene sorbitan 20 monooleate in the range of 10% to 60% by weight, preferably 15% to 45% and in a ratio range of 1:1 to 1:20, preferably 1:2 to 1:8. Tocotrienol-rich source of Vitamin E in the form of fat-soluble compound is provided in a range of 5% to 60%, preferably 10% to 50% by weight of the formulation. The oil carrier may be limited up to 85% by the formulation’s weight, preferably between 6% to 56%, and may be chosen from glycerol trioleate, triglycerides, oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and mixtures thereof. The formulation may be made into powder, tablet or capsule for administration as a dietary supplement.
