Isolated bacteria are described that are characterised by being culturable, derived from a human neonatal gastrointestinal tract, and having the ability to produce gamma-aminobutyric acid. Also described is the use of the GABA-producing bacteria in the treatment or regulation of cardiovascular function, mood disturbance, anxiety, stress, pain and proliferative disorders.La présente invention concerne des bactéries isolées qui sont caractérisées comme pouvant être mises en culture, dérivées d'un tractus gastro-intestinal néonatal humain, et pouvant produire de l'acide gamma-aminobutyrique.
