The invention relates to a composition for topical application containing at least one combination of (a) polyphenols selected from proanthocyanidin monomers and oligomers (OPC), hydroxystilbenes, flavonoid monomers and oligomers, their derivatives and mixtures thereof, (b) a spruce extract comprising at least one lignane chosen from: hydroxymatairsinol, secoisolariciresinol, conidendrin, lariciresinol and liovile.
