A support for the trunk or a limb or joint of a human or animal comprises a first band having first and second end portions with respective fasteners which can be fastened together to fix the band in a loop around the trunk or a limb or joint and at least one pad located inwardly of the first band for engaging a surface portion of the trunk or a limb or joint. The second band has a portion located inwardly of the first band and supports said at least one pad for movement independently of the first band when the first band is fixed to apply pressure to said surface portion. An adjustment means is connected to the second band and extends from an inner side to an outer side of the first band to allow operation outwardly of the first band when the first band is fixed for adjusting the position of said at least one pad.L'invention concerne un support pour le tronc ou un membre ou une articulation d'un être humain ou d'un animal, comprenant une première bande ayant des première et seconde parties d'extrémité ayant des organes de fixation respectifs qui peuvent être fixés ensemble pour fixer la bande en une boucle autour du tronc ou d'un membre ou d'une articulation et au moins un patin situé à l'intérieur de la première bande pour entrer en prise avec une partie de surface du tronc ou d'un membre ou d'une articulation. La seconde bande comprend une partie située à l'intérieur de la première bande et supporte ledit au moins un patin pour un mouvement indépendamment de la première bande lorsque la première bande est fixée pour appliquer une pression à ladite partie de surface. Un moyen d'ajustement est relié à la seconde bande et s'étend d'un côté interne à un côté externe de la première bande pour permettre l'actionnement vers l'extérieur de la première bande lorsque la première bande est fixée pour ajuster la position dudit au moins un patin.
