PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ISS-type radiation image detector capable of preventing damage to a scintillator.SOLUTION: A radiation image detector includes a photoelectric conversion panel 21, scintillator 20, and circuit substrate 12 in order in a housing 14 of a monocoque structure from an incident side of X-rays. The photoelectric conversion panel 21 has a plurality of pixels for generating electric charge by photoelectric conversion arranged thereon. The scintillator 20 contains cesium iodide, and is deposited on the photoelectric conversion panel 21 to convert X-rays into visible light. The circuit substrate 12 has a signal processing unit 12a for generating image data based on the electric charge generated by the photoelectric conversion panel mounted thereon.
