The present invention relates to a system (10) for exercising and amusing animals (10), the system comprising:- at least three peripheral supports (16) which are elevated above a floor (12), wherein the floor the peripheral supports are spaced apart from one another, wherein each peripheral support (16) is associated with a respective motorized winch (20), and wherein a cable (22) is spooled on each winch,- a movable central member (24), wherein, for each winch, the corresponding cable extends from the winch via a respective peripheral support (16) to the movable central member,- a bait device (36) configured to hold a bait, the bait device being provided at a distance (D) below the movable central member,- a control unit (30) associated with the winches and configured to control each winch to wind or unwind the corresponding cable for moving the bait device.
