A method of inhibiting quorum sensing in Pseudomonas aeruginosa is provided. The method comprises contacting Pseudomonas aeruginosa with a gold(I) thiolate complex in an amount effective to inhibit quorum sensing in the Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Use of the method for the treatment or prevention of damage or disease associated with quorum sensing and/or biofilm formation in a subject, or for the treatment of biofilm and/or for inhibiting biofilm formation is also provided.Linvention concerne un procédé dinhibition de la détection de quorum de Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Le procédé comprend la mise en contact de Pseudomonas aeruginosa avec un complexe de thiolate dor(I) en une quantité efficace pour inhiber la détection de quorum de Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Linvention concerne également lutilisation du procédé pour le traitement ou la prévention dune lésion ou dune maladie associée à la détection de quorum et/ou la formation dun biofilm chez un sujet, ou pour le traitement du biofilm et/ou pour linhibition de la formation du biofilm.
